Hi, I am working on my Apollonia Schmitt-- Jacob Alles line of Dubois CO. Jacob was a big furniture maker in the county, and invented the roll top desk. He did not get a patent on it though. Two of his children went to Mt. Vernon where they began similar stores-- Adam Joseph Alles (had two wives) and Joseph William/William Joseph Alles and his wife. Another son, Jacob JR Alles, went to Henderson where his store is still in existance. I would like to fill out this branch, and share any info I do have on the Alleses. Thanks.
