Are you a Collins genealogist? this information all looks true. Mary F was LD Orr's second wife, and she was much younger than he. Her first child with him was Naoma/Neomi. Seems Naomi's name is spelled differently in places. I think you are right about no death record. I think many of those records were all lost during the huge floods in the midwest. My dad tried to locate markers about 15 yrs ago before his own death, and he could find many of the collins and chisholm graves, but W'G's wife, Naomi, was not buried where he was. Perhaps she was buried in an ORR family plot or something. She is the mystery to me- what happened to her, etc. I have nothing about her in any of the family records at home either, no mention of her in W G's newpaper editorials, nothing in My grandmother Mary Jane' Collins Chisholm's effects. Of course we have so few. Mary Jane Collins ( naoma and W G daughter) died when my father was 5. She had several children, and one ! more after dad, who all died at birth or within weeks. I have been able to find everyone of their records, took a long time. Dad was always bothered he did not know their names or where they were buried. So he died kind of disturbed he never knew the names of his sibs. He was the only one of 5 that survivied. They were buried in several places as his parents moved from sebree, to owensboro. Thanks so much for the information. I have wondered if Mary Jane and her mom, Naomi both died of the same thing. It has been presumed MJ was diabetic (not diagnosed in those days) as my father was. Possibly her mom Naomi also...which made it tough for infants to survive, when moms are not treated.

She was born in Henderson, Kentucky and had family there. She was the daughter of L.C. and Addie (Jones) Willett. Addie was the daughter of Dr. H.S. Jones and his wife, Maranda C. (Prichett) Jones. H.S. Jones was born August 31, 1834 and died May 24, 1908. Edna Willett had six brothers, Hugh Paul Willett (b. 1882), Herbert Willett (b.1881), Jones Willett (b. 1890), Richard E. Willett (b. 1895), Joseph Milton Willett (b. 1892), and Louis Willett (b. 1887). That is all the information I have and none of my living relatives know anymore either. So, anything you know, especially more on Edna Willett's parents, and her maternal and paternal grandparents would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I recall my dad saying that he believed HIS great grandparents on that side had divorced. I have been stumped on when, and then where John had gone. anything on the demise of their sons, W G, wife Naomi (Orr)? I believe she was daughter of L D and Mary Orr, also living in KY in at least the early 1860's. Thanks again Peggy!

Just wanted to tell you that I had overlooked on the 1880 that Mary F. was divorced. Then I found John Collins living in Evansville In. age 42 listed as a boarder with James Briant family. He was also divorced. I think that he was her husband (ex) despite the age. Peggy

This is absolutely the right family! I'll take whatever you have! W G's wife's name was Naoma or Neomi Orr. I can not find date of her death, but know she died between time my grandmother Mary Jane Collins was born in 1887 and 1900. She is not listed in the 1900 census, and there was not one in 1890, and in 1880 Naomi and W G were married, probably AFTER the 1880 census. I can't find a think about Naomi. Not in any old letters, or photos, or newpapers, on line, or anything. I think she may have died while they still lived in Sebree ky, because I don't think she ever lived in Calhoun. She is not buried in the cemetary where WG, Willie, Grover, my Gmother Mary Jane. Thanks for anything you may have! I have been trying to track this family for ages.
