Other that Oscar, there was Lloyd (my husband's father) Thomas, J.C., Tots (real name may have been Margaret), Manuel, and more. Many are buried in the Carter Cemetery in Henderson County in the Beals, Spottsville area. Alonzo's father was Henry, and Henry's father was Abraham. Abraham was apparently born in SC and married Mary Willoby in 1852 in Smith County TN. I haven't found anything past Abraham. I believe that Abraham was killed by Union soldiers in the Civil war.

This one is my 2nd great grandmother, the daughter of Richard Turner and Hannah Evaline Shelton, She married E. P. Stone a widower I believe in 1888. She was born in Jul 1857 in Kentucky. She was listed in the school census on 30 Jun 1895 in District 5, Webster County, Kentucky. She appeared in the Federal Census in 1900 in Webster County, Kentucky. She appeared in the Federal Census on 28 Jan 1920 in Raleigh, Union County, Kentucky. She died on 30 May 1932 in Union County, Kentucky. She was buried on 31 May 1932 in Woodland Cemetery, Morganfield, Union County, Kentucky in an unmarked grave. > Union County > Nancy Stone > 75 > death may 30, 1932 > Cert# 12690 Thanks. Hi Helen, I searched on the Gen Webs Ky Vital Records project there are three Nancy Stones in the tri county area. None have been transcribed yet. Image is not available. It is a great project and we are still working on all of the ky counties. The one in Henderson and Union are close to the age you are looking for. Henderson County Nancy Stone 71 Death June 11, 1933 cert. # 13779 Webster County Nancy E. Stone 62 Death Dec 5, 1938 cert # 31924 Union County Nancy Stone 75 death may 30, 1932 Cert# 12690 Not much help but a little closer then before. Quan

I sent a query yesterday on any death info on Nancy Stone-- who might have died in 1929. She was on the 1920 census with J R (Bob) Stone, 28,son, Ida (Foster) wife, 21, Clarence,7, Roscha L, 2 yr 10mo, Doscha M , 3 mos and Nancy,69, mother. This is where the paper trail ends . She supposedly died in 1929 and is buried at Shady Grove. I am playing with some possibilities-- she could have died in a poor farm or asylum as she supposedly had dementia, and sometimes those deaths were overlooked. She could also have remarried a few years before she died. Does anyone have access to the Shady Grove records and check out the Nancy's buried there about 1929? She may not have a tombstone. If she does have a death record, the name could be misspelled-- although I don't see how Nancy Stone could be misspelled-- it is not like having a name like Nancy Buschkoetter. It is almost like this Nancy fell off the face of the earth. Thanks for your help. Helen Zuber Keusch
