KY birth/death records begin in 1911. Often you are lucky to get a birth date if it is given on a death record. If your ancestor was a church person and his church kept precise records as some churches did, you might get lucky and find a church record of the birth. Good luck. My name is Thurman Wayne Pruitt. My father Was David L Pruitt son of William Thurman Pruitt. His father was William Pollie Pruitt. I am looking hard to find out who Pollie's father is for my family tree. I have a picture of Lizzie Mae Fulkerson with James and My grandfather Thurman in it. I read in one of you post's that William P's father was John and wife Eliza Emily. I have found a John And Eliza from a census search and in 1900 it show's them living in Sebree Ky. When I look William P up on the census reports it get's confusing. On one William P says his father was from Alabama and another he say's his father is from Kentucky. Please any info you might have about John would be very helpful to me. I was amazed to see how far back the Fulkerson and Winstead tree's go back in time. Lot's of intrest in those families. Dear Negley Researcher, I have located my book entitled NEGLEY USA, HISTORY AND GENEALOGY, Vol IV, The John Leonhardt Negley Line. George Negley [3rd generation] was a resident of Henderson Co., but previously of Chrisitian Co. and of Mercer Co., KY. The author, Floyd R. Negley [now deceased] has a long write-up of George Negley. However, George had no son named Charles. George's will was probated in Henderson Co. in 1865 (after the Civil War, if I have my dates correct.) Can you tell me who the father of Charles may have been? Floyd has a number of Charles Negleys listed in his index. My interest in the Negley family is that his first wife was Nancy Williams, who, in all probability was born in Granville Co., NC to Samuel Farrar Wiliams and his first wife Hannah Sneed or Snead. S. F. Williams, in his rejected Rev War pension record, states he was born 1759 in Granville Co., NC, and his marriage bond appears in Granville Co. S.F. Williams further stated he came to Henderson Co. ca 1806, the date of his first deed--part of Lot 23. Have you done any census work on Charles Negley? Any information that you might find is greatly appreciated. I did have another person contact me to say that he found the death certificate and that it did say he had drowned in the Ohio river. I am curious how or whom identified him. He is buried in Henderson Co in what appears to be a lone grave. He had lived his life in Evansville, IN and was a WW I vet. He would have been 54 years old when he died. If it is not asking too much, could you see if he ever married? I don't seem to be able to find a marriage record for him. Thank you very much. Looking at the 1810 Census for Henderson County, I found the following: Watson, Daniel had (2) sons age 10 and under Watson, Peter had (1) son age 10 and under Watson, Tarlton had (2) sons age 10 and under Watson, William had (1) son age 10 and under There are no marriage listings prior to 1810 in microfilmed records. However, a list was found in Book A that covered marriages performed by Rev. James M. Gready in 1806, 1807, 1808 and 1809, but there is no listing of a Watson male being married before 1810 in Henderson County. Checked Starling's History for your Watson group and there wasn't any listing for Peter or Tarleton Watson. I'm sorry, I don't know what else to try. Maybe these wonderful researchers on the list can help you more.
