Folks, please bear with me on this one, I post to this list for genealogical purposes; however, this is a favor I hope someone out there can help me with. My Capt's mother (I work for the Vanderburgh Co, IN Sheriff's Dept) who is in her 70's would like to find out what happened to a young man she and her future husband had been friends with growing up in the Union/Crittenden County area. If anyone has any information on a David "Pee Wee" Thomas Travis who would be in his 70's and served in WWII, please contact me. My Capt. says his mother has always wondered what happened to this friend since the war. Thanks Martie Williams

I am so sorry you are having such a terrible time - Try this trick -- We call it going "in the back door".... Go to my Trigg Co Page http://www.comsource.net/~kyseeker/kylines/kytg.html At the lower part of the page you will see Kentucky Interest - Click on the Death Records and let me know if you get it..... Just got these photos online. They're of Betty Sellers and some of her friends at the KGS annual meeting last Saturday. http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~cpalmer/kgs/bh&bet.htm Carole Palmer Webster County KYGenWeb page coordinator http://www.rootsweb.com/~kywebste/
Thanks, I'll try this too...... However, Pnutkitty suggested puting cfm at the end, instead of .html AND THAT WORKED. I HAVE FINALLY SEEN THE LISTING, AND IT LOOKS WONDERFUL. THANK YOU ALL FOR HELPING ME. THANK YOU, BETTY FOR ALL YOUR GOOD WORK. IF ANYONE SEES MR. BLUE, THANK HIM TOO. We are all so lucky..... And tomorrow will look better for me too. Good Luck, Betty, on the upcoming surgery with your hubby. We're all praying and pulling for you both... Wilayne
Maybe I can help you - I'm have no problems and I search on the surname only. Remember you are searching a database of 25,000 people.. The aol browser is not the best and is rated poorly. If you have another browser on your computer - why not try it... it can make the world of difference... At 10:32 AM 8/5/98 EDT, Pnutkitty@aol.com wrote: >It sure does run slow. Oops, what is a CACHE, and WHERE is it? Thanks, I'll try that too. Wilayne
I just tried it exactly as you said and the site came up. Have you tried emptying your cache. Sorry but it works for me.
Here is what I'm entering, after I hit the KEYWORD button....... http://www.aplusdata.com/kyseeker/records.html then I hit ENTER I get a black white screen, with the above address at the top of the page. Wilayne
Exactly what are you entering when trying to access this site. If you show all of us, maybe we can find out what is going on.
I would also like to thank James L. BLUE and Jane SELLERS McBROOM for this wonderful website. POB !!! (Pat on the Back) WTG!!! considering the welth of information on these pages, Be patient!! file your nails --file your "Gen" papers--Smell the roses It is well worth the Xtra time!!! Thank you both so very much. :* Mary in AZ :)
After all that - (my last message), just tried to access the www.aplusdata......for the death records. Guess what? Nothing new - still doesn't work. Another call to AOL. Sorry for my complaints, but it feels good to vent once in a while. Meanwhile, I still can't use this GREAT NEW PROGRAM....... Wilayne
Well, I just went through this LONG ordeal with AOL help.....I had to unload the whole AOL thing on my computer. Then do some kind of SCAN correction (which took 1 hour), then do a DEFRAGMENTATION to my disk......I was scared stiff. In the meantime, I LOST my whole backup messages on the filecabinet. I had addresses stored for a year, so I could send back to folks. Now I'm lost in that respect. Glad you messaged back....Hope I'm still in the groups...... I am just now going to try the kyseeker file to see if it worked......if not, I've wasted about 2 hours......yipes. thanks for keeping in touch. I'll message you again later.. Wilayne
It sure does run slow. Everytime you submit a name, the full page comes up graphics and all instead of just the text you are looking for. My son and husband (who are very computer literate - not a novice like me) said it was the way the website was put together not AOL. I can only take their word for it. I tried getting on in the afternoon and had no problems.
I have IE 4.0 or if you look at about IE it says Version 4.72.3110 and I've had no problems accessing it. Could be the time of day you are trying too. The busier the web is, the slower things are going to react and respond. If I try certain addresses late in the day, I can not get to them, but if I try them earlier in the day, I have no problems.
