Since most of us are not involved in the daily running or rootsweb nor do we choose to be; I am unsure as to why this bickering is happening or how it will affect the list. Can anyone enlighten me on this. Martie
Emily Clemintine Taylor married William Daniels 12 Apr 1871 in Hopkins County Lucy C Taylor married Wiley Thomas Selby in Hopkins County in 1885 Mary Adelaide Taylor married James W Butt 6 Sept in Henderson County The Brides were from Henderson County originally. I cannot seem to find their husbands on the census. I thought perhaps there might be a voters registration in that time period, was there? Any suggestions on how to go about finding them? Thank you R Barton

This is what I found when I went there, but there was no Wilson Taylor listed. They picked out Taylors and Wilsons, but no Wilson Taylor. Hello everyone! Can someone please find out for me if Henderson had city directories for the time period of 1850 - 1860. And if so, where can they be borrowed from by way of interlibrary loan. Thanks for your help. SJobert

I was just visiting the records and found two mistakes in the death record of my mother, Katherine Helm. Who should I report these errors to? Thanks! Sue Helm

Some are experiencing trouble when trying to subscribe, so I am reposting this message again (sorry for the repeat). To subscribe to Census-Chat send an email message to CENSUS-CHAT-L-request@rootsweb.com (this address is for mail mode, you get each posting as they are posted) in the body of the message (here in this area that you are reading in or would write in), put only the word SUBSCRIBE. Turn OFF ALL signature files, do not type your name or anything. If you have even a period ( . ) in there besides the word Subscribe, it will spit it back at you. You can leave the subject blank, or put the word Subscribe up there. If you prefer Digest mode (several messages posted into on big message), then send an email to CENSUS-CHAT-D-request@rootsweb.com and in the message area, put only the word Subscribe. Once you are subscribed (you will get a welcome message), if you want to post a question or message to EVERYONE on the list, send an email to CENSUS-CHAT-L@rootsweb.com Now what exactly is Census-Chat? A mailing list, sponsored by the Census Project, for anyone who wants to discuss the Census, provide tips for locating Census information, and request Census lookups, general Chit Chat, odd names found, odd mistakes found, a success story of many long hours spent searching the census for an ancestor, anything pertaining to the Census. This is a new list and could be a BUSY list too at times (lots of email possible). Thanks for letting me interrupt! Maria DeMoss Troutman

Princeton, Ky Grim REaper Claims World War Veteran ROBERT LEE MARTIN, son of Mr and Mrs R. E. MARTIN, of Providence and a World War Veteran, died at the Presbyterian hospital at Albuquerque, NM, Wednesday may 20th. The young veteran had made a valiant though futile struggle against tuberculosis, probably superinduced by exposure, endured while overseas. He had been in declining health for a long time, and went first to Tucson, Arizona, and then to New Mexico, seeking the relief which never came. He had been confined to the hospital cot only a few weeks. The remains were conveyed to Providence for funeral services and interment. The deceased was a nephew of MRS. GRESHAM COX of this city, and she, with Rev. James T. Rushing, a devoted friend of the family, went to Providence when word of the untimely death reached here. My uncle, Norman Elam, is buried either in Henderson, Kentucky (probably Fernwood) or in Florida, where he died. I think he was buried in Henderson but have no way of verifying this. Is there anyone with easy access to the Henderson cemetery book who could let me know if he is buried there and his dates of birth and death? Thanks! -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Mary Elam - - - maryelam@centuryinter.net =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
I have a book with listings of cemeteries in Corydon, KY., and will be happy to do "look-ups" for you. Please list dates of death, if possible. Regards, Judith
Thanks for all the suggestions about Union Co Cemeteries. I have the Peyton Heady Cemetery books. I'll check out the Henderson library when I'm in Ky in October. I live in California, so was trying to plan my trip, so I'm not running all over the county, looking for cemeteries. Thanks again, Sue
