Still looking for information on Albert Logan Childers, Wm T Childers or any of their descendants who live in Henderson. I have PICTURES. come on up and see my pictures...hmmmmm. gijowww2@etsc.net
My 2 cents worth too. I found Henderson County marriages listed under another county. I haven't looked at it in a long time, so don't remember which county it was under. That makes it BAD for genealogists. it sure can throw them "asunder". I wrote to Broderbund and told them of the mix-up. Maybe they have fixed it and maybe not. The "newsletter" on the Webster page is called "A Word or Two From Carole" and I try to update it 3-4 times a year. I started it specifically for letting folks know what is new on the Webster page, neighboring counties and also the web in general. When I update the newsletter, there is a little update graphic with the date, so I hope people take advantage of the information in it. And I also keep all the "back issues" online, even though some of them have out-of-date information. If there were just more hours in the day..... <grin> Thanks for the good suggestion. Carole, I noticed you are the Webster Co. KYGenWeb page coordinator. Do you have a notice on your web page about the CD mix-up? How about contacting the Knott Co. Hi Helen.... You must be using AAI CD #2. On that CD the marriages under Knott Co KY, are actually Webster County marriages. I discovered that shortly after I bought the CD and found *two* of my direct line ancestors from Webster County listed as marrying in "Knott County", which is in far eastern KY. It's hard to make a comparison with the Webster County Marriages 1860-1900 book, which was published by the Hopkins Co G&H Society, because that book lists the marriages in chronological order and the CD lists them in alphabetical order. But I believe *all* the marriages listed under Knott County are actually Webster County marriages. Just an added challenge to those of us who are already about as confused as one can get. <grin> Seriously, we need to spread the word about this mix-up because there are new researchers coming online every day. I have posted it on KYRoots several times in the past but I guess it should be done on a regular basis. And pity the poor Knott County researchers - goodness only knows where they'll find the marriages they are looking for. Happy Thanksgiving, everybody. Hello fellow Duncan researchers, I, too, am related to the Henderson Co. Duncans. Martha Duncan (parents unknown) married William Handley. Martha and William evidently divorced, their two children (George and John) were left with relatives to raise. William was born in 1832 (in Henderson Co or Webster Co, KY) and died in 1908 in Freestone Co., TX. Martha was born about 1837 (in Henderson or Webster Co., KY) and did remarry. William and Martha are my gg grandparents. I would like more information on Martha and her family. I am enclosing some material below from my FTM program that I have gathered from a Handley researcher. My e-mail is: gkeusch@psci.net Thanks. Helen Keusch In the In the 1860 Webster Census, a Richard Duncan (39, b. in NC) is listed along with his wife, Elizabeth (36). The following children are listed: Martha (13), William (10), Virginia A. (8), Manda (6), Arch D. (4). Also listed in the same household are John T. Handley (9) and George H. Handley (5) plus Elisha W. Duncan (22) and Mary Duncan (20). It is presumed that Martha Duncan, the mother of John and George is dead by 1860--Martha would be 23 years old. Martha could have been a sister to Elisha Duncan--possibly a daughter to Richard and Elizabeth if they had children at a very young age. From the notes of Glen Johnson, Martha Duncan left William Thomas Handley and remarried a Keller by 1860. William is with his mother, Mary, in 1860 and the two boys are with Martha's brother, Richard Duncan.

I've got Duncan's in that area and Webster county too, but have done VERY LITTLE with them. What little I have does not have a Ruby in it. We have a John Duncan, George Henry, William Harvey and then grandparents and so forth. McCool, I used to work with a guy in Fort Worth, TX, an older man, who said his Father was from around Cadiz, KY. That would be at best guess, early 1900's that he was talking about.
