Hi Becky, My records indicate G. W. "Bill" Robertson (b. in Tenn.) and Annie Burshears (b. in Webster Co. Ky) were the parents of Flora Beatrice Robertson who was born in Union Co. about 1895 and died in 1953--buried at Phythian Ridge in Union Co. Flora was married 29 Feb 1912 in Morganfield to George Francis Butts. Do have list of her children if that would help. Hi, Re: Locketts and Taylors-- In my Eakins notes, I have an Elmira (Ella) Eakins marrying a Pashall W. Locket and having a son, John Francis Lockett (b. 12/5/1856). Elmira was the d/o John Eakins and Sarah (Sally) King Eakins. If you can find a match to this, I'd be happy to share. Also, a relative of mine, Gabrella Ford, married a Lorenzo D. Taylor of Ohio Co. Gabrella and Lorenzo had a child, Samuel. Do any of these Taylors match yours or anyone else's on this mailing list? Thanks. I agree. Private mail should not be sent to the entire list.
Rosa, A Lockett family touched my Cunninghams in Franklin and Henderson Counties, but I can't be sure if it is the same family. "Forks of Elkhorn" mentions, on page 173, that one of the daughters of William Hickman II (son of the Baptist preacher) was Lydia who married Capt. Francis Lockett in Franklin County in 1831. This Lydia is mentioned in the will of her aunt, Mary Hickman Owen. See the will on the Henderson County GenWeb page. Also on that page is the census of 1850 and Francis and Lydia are listed with their children, but there is no Lucy. On the same census is this entry: 748 LOCKETT THOMAS J 37 M W US MARSHALL KY EUPHERNIA 34 F W KY ROBERT 11 M W KY MARTHA 9 F W KY LOUISA 4 F W KY FRANCES L It may mean nothing, but there is at least one daughter in most Hickman generations whose name begins with L. Note the Louisa in the above entry. Other Locketts mentioned in "Forks of Elkhorn" are, on page 115, George Lockett who married Callie (Crutcher?), and on page 288, James Lockett who married Susanna Dupuy (her parents are given if this turns out to be helpful). Hope this helps, Suzanne At 09:27 AM 5/16/99 -0700, you wrote: >John Peter Taylor married Lucy Ann Lockett on January 11, 1872. Does >anyone have information on the couple? John Peter Taylor married Lucy Ann Lockett on January 11, 1872. Does anyone have information on the couple? John Peter Taylor was the son of Wilson F Taylor of Union/Henderson County. Any information on the family of Lucy Lockett? Perhaps if someone has a census for 1880 of Henderson or Union county they could tell me if John and Lucy and their children are listed. Any inforamtion would be most appreciatted. Rosa Barton

Hi Lewis, As far as I know, I do not have Murphy in my line. I think I recall my mother speaking of Dentons, tho. Maybe not in our line, just knew some. Becky
Hi List Members... Maybe I should do it this way, my name is Jim Powell Jr. I am the Coordinator of the Henderson County KYGenWeb Site and have been for quite awhile. This Mail list is loosely tied to that site, not the HCH&GS. I do however keep up web pages for the HCH&GS and the General Hopkins Chapter of the DAR. Those Web Sites are also loosely tied to the Henderson County KYGenWeb Page. Now for my "personal" opinions on mail lists. I believe that a friendly list will provide much more help and real involvement than a sterile list. From my experience, complaints made publicly on a list tend to cause more email to delete than than the thread that they are complaining about. So please, if you have a complaint, attach it it to a rock and toss it through one of my open windows. Please don't skip it off of the list on its way here. BTW... During the last day or so we have had about 7 unsubscriptions and a couple of subscriptions. Please remember, if you do unsubscribe, there may be a couple of messages out there looking for you. Wait a day and if you are still receiving messages, let me know and I'll help you out. If you would like to comment on this message, please send it directly to me and not the list. Thanks for listening and for replying directly to me, Jim jpowelljr@worldnet.att.net
Looking for information on the Benjamin Overfield who married Lucretia Campbell. Ben and Lou had at least one child, Anne Overfield who married Thomas Jefferson Shearon. They (TJ and Anne) moved to MO where they are both buried. They did have 7 children in Henderson KY before they moved to MO. They moved to MO between 1903 and before 1910 as they are in the Stoddard co MO census in 1910. I do not have any info on Ben's parents or Lucretia Campbell parents. Lou died in her 30s or early40s and Ben Married again to a Carneal. Is any one researching Overfields or Campbell? Any help would be appreciated. Glenna gshea@sheltonbbs.com
