    3. I am researching the Chaney surname in Hart Co. Riley Chaney, eldest son of Obediah Chaney, married Mary "Polly" Shipp on Feb. 2, 1823 in Green County. He appears on the 1830 Green Co. census. He received a Land Grant in 1833 for 18 acres "in the Little Barrens" in Hart Co. The 1850 Hart Co. census identifies thirteen children: (1) Easter/Easton, (2) James H., (3) William, (4) John M., (5) Obediah, (6) Elizabeth, (7) Louisa J., (8) Richard T., (9) Joseph, (10) Lucy, (11) Nancy E., (12) Mary L, and (13) Francis M. (male). Riley's wife, Mary, apparently died before 1860 as she does not appear in his household in the 1860 Hart Co. census. There are three children with the surname Chapman in his household. Can anyone help identify them? Riley appears on page 200 of the 1840 Hart Co. census. Can anyone provide the data from that census? John M. Chaney, son of Riley, married Elizabeth Brown on 4/27/1851 in Hart Co. and appears on page 754 of the 1860 Hart Co. census. Can anyone provide the data from that census? Eastern Chaney, son of Riley, appears on page 755 of the 1860 Hart Co. census. Can anyone provide the data from that census? Obediah Chaney, son of Riley, appears on page 882 of the 1860 Metcalfe Co. census. In the household are his wife, Susan, and children John and Catharine. Can anyone provide the maiden name of Susan? There is a street/road in the Hardyville Div. of Hart Co. named "Chaney Lane". Chaney Lane is also called SSR1358. There is a road in the Hammonville Div. of Hart Co. named "Homer Chaney Road". This road runs SE from SSR569 2.2 miles to the town of Glen Lily. Can anyone help with the history of these roads? Will share my data on this family with anyone interested. Thanks, Keith R.
