This ocurred in Warren <County, Kentucky and appears Order Book B, June 15, 1801--January 1, 1805, <Pg. 26. I beleive that Warren County Webbs and our are all rthe same <people, just descendants of different Webb brothers. MERRY WEBB (alod known as Mel Webb)of Warren Co. later Edmonson Co. was s/o Martin Webb, sr. who died, leaving a will in 1816. Merry came to KY with Martin from N.C. in ca 1795, as did other sons of Martin, sr. < I also have Martin H. Webb listed as a Colonel, this appears in the book <written by Charles Whittle, and refers to Col. Martin H. Webb, a school <teacher at Temple Hill School I assume. I know there are several Webb <families al having sons named the same in the Warren, Grayson, Edmonson and Hart Counties area. That make this family difficult to follow. An example This is MARTIN H. WEBB son of Merry Webb & Martha Jones. ,<is Martin Webb, b 1750, married Nancy Phelps, whom I believe is the daughter <of William Phelps who came to Kentucky in 1778 and was killed at Pitman's <Station I believe, but I am not really for sure who this Martin Webb is. I <would like to untangle this with you. This is Martin Webb, sr. who died 1816. Judith was his first wife and the mother of his childre, but Nancy Phelps Vanzant was by his marriage after he moved to Warren Co.(actually Mammoth Cave). Nancy's mother was killed at Pitmans Station , not her father. Old Wm. Phelps came on into Ed. Co. and later into Butler Co. Norman Warnell
