William Watkins b 1805 TN married 1826 Knox CO, TN, Margaret Byerley, dau. of Jasper Byerley, JR, of SC and wife Mary Moore b ca 1767. Wm's brother samuel also married Margaret's sister Lucy and moved with them during 1840's to Chattanooga area near GA at Ooltewah, TN, where they left kin. During late 1840's they moved back to Knox CO, TN, near Toole's Bend and then by 1852 were permanently in Loudon, TN. In 1839 Wm. is mentioned in estate papers of a Benj. Watkins which were supposed to be adm. by a James M. BELL. Wm. and Margaret's sons went to KY to join the Union army, where son Samuel died. Son Wm. Douglas Watkins b 1843 TN later married Nancy Brown HART b 1852 tN, dau. of George B. HART b 1816 tN. and wife ellen Ekens/Adkins/Aikens.
