Hi Marguerite and All; The tax lists are also available from LDS. I have found them EXTREMELY useful. They are also good to use to find out when a son came into his own and started his own family. Most counties have gaps, but for the most part they are a great replacement when census will just not do or is missing like the 1890. Biggest downside is that it only lists the head of household. But even worse is if none have survived for the time frame you need. The tape # at LDS for Hart Co for the years 1819-31, 33, 35, 37 and 40-52 is # 8028. Most of it is pretty well legible.
