    1. [KYHART-L] Tapscott Murder
    2. Cathie Tapscott
    3. Willliam M. Tapscott was shot by an african-american man, whom Mr. Tapscott had had difficulty with in his store before. From the article I got from the Glasgow paper, it states the man jumped a train out of town. The investigation was still ongoing. As far as checking the Kentucky vital statistics, I have done this. There is no record of his death, even though his grandson, my father-in-law, states that his father always talked about it. I have now found where he was buried, in the Northtown Church Cemetery. I would still like to find an obituary if one exists. Did Hart Co. have a newspaper in 1920? Any help would be appreciated. Cathie Tapscott

    3. Can anyone tell me if Hart County had a newspaper back in 1918. My husband's great grandfather, William M. Tapscott, was shot and killed while tending his store in Horse Cave on January 19, 1918. I found an article from the Glasgow newspaper which talks about the shooting, but the article does not say anything about him dying. We know he did, but I would like to find an obituary that might tell us where he was buried. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it. Cathie Tapscott

    2. Hello again. I have some time to research some now so I have re-subbed for a while. I am looking for the burial site of Anna Irene West Reynolds, b. March 1853, d. abt 1881. She lived in Hart County, KY and was wife of Shadrack W. Reynolds when she died. Anyone online that might have cemetery headstone readings willing to see if she is listed in your books? Also, is there anyone with headstone readings for, or that live close to the Logsdon Valley Cemetery? I would like to know if there is a headstone for my great-g-grandparents Gabriel and Nancy (Logsdon) Reynolds. I know they are buried there but not if there is a headstone. I have contacted Mary Branstetter and she says the Hart Co. Historical Society has no headstone readings for this cemetery. I would appreciate any assistance, I live in Michigan and have no trip planned there in the near future. Brenda Reynolds Sears

    3. The federal records (National Archives) proved useful for tracing my ancestors who lived in, and around, Hart County. On the pension forms of the Civil War Soldiers were the marriage dates, family names, and birthdates of children and spouses!. Also, these pension forms identified that the original records were filed in the Hart County Courthouse. Of course, the Courthouse later burned, but the records in the National Archives provided a means to discover the marriage dates, and to track children through means other than wills, and marriage bonds, all of which burned! 1. [KYHART-L] Logsdon Valley Cemetery
    2. Hello, I understand from a cousin that Logsdon Valley Cemetery is in Hart County. Is this cemetery kept in a condition that has allowed the headstones to be read? My g-g-grandfather Gabriel Reynolds is supposed to be buried there and I am wondering if there is a listing of headstone readings OR if anyone is close by and would tell me if his stone is there, the info. on the headstone, and the condition of it. He supposedly died in 1895 and I am trying to get his death date and birth if inscribed. His wife was Nancy Logsdon. Thanks in advance for ANY assistance from Hart County researcher.
