They had Milliam Webb, Martin and Meredith "Merry" Mel Webb, Elizabeth, John, Lucy and Martha. A Merry Webb got into a fight with a William Forrester and he bit off Forresters ears. This ocurred in Warren County, Kentucky and appears Order Book B, June 15, 1801--January 1, 1805, Pg. 26. I beleive that Warren County Webbs and our are all rthe same people, just descendants of different Webb brothers. I also have Martin H. Webb listed as a Colonel, this appears in the book written by Charles Whittle, and refers to Col. Martin H. Webb, a school teacher at Temple Hill School I assume. I know there are several Webb families al having sons named the same in the Warren, Grayson, Edmonson and Hart Counties area. That make this family difficult to follow. An example is Martin Webb, b 1750, married Nancy Phelps, whom I believe is the daughter of William Phelps who came to Kentucky in 1778 and was killed at Pitman's Station I believe, but I am not really for sure who this Martin Webb is. I am searching any info for my gr-grandmother: CHANEY, Catharine Jane b. December 1860 Three Springs, Hart Co., KY. Married September 30, 1880 Warren Co., KY to Willam E. Westbrook b. August 25, 1856 Warren Co., KY. I have been unable to verify information on Catharine. I have been told that her father was either John M. Chaney or Obediah Chaney. My lines are: BOLTON, LANG, HIGHBAUGH, GOFF on one line in Hart County. FRED, JAGGERS, HARPER, WADE, PAGE on the other Hart County line. BOLTON LINE--My grandparents Harry Brents BOLTON (1891-1963) and Bertha Florence FRED (1895-1990) grew up and married in Hart Co where their first 6 (of 13) children were born between 1911 and 1919. Harry descends from the Robert Hayes BOLTON (1795-1862) and Hannah Matilda LANG (1803-1871) line down through their son Robert Hayes BOLTON, Jr and Mildred HIGHBAUGH. Next generation is William H. (Billy) BOLTON who married Laura Ellen GOFF (1856-1938). I need help with Laura Ellen's ancestors. I know that she was a school teacher, and married Mr. Hamilton (Christian name unknown) some time after Billy died in about 1901. Laura and Mr. Hamilton had no children. Laura and Billy's other children were: Dallas, married Bertha (Mary?) Lived in Louisville Nellie, married James (Uncle Jimmy) FULKS Mattie, married Harve BROWNLEE (found some information at Munfordville Historical Society) Rosa, married Wood HATFIELD ( information on them from Ailene CLOSE, daughter-in-law, still living at 95) Bertha May, never married, lived in Wellington, KS, died there in 1972 FRED LINE--Bertha Florence FRED was the daughter of John Henry FRED and Laura Bell JAGGERS, married 1894. Both are buried in Horse Cave, KY. Laura's parents were Jeremiah Thomas JAGGERS and Celia HARPER, married 1856. Desperately need information on the FRED and HARPER lines. We suspect that FRED was changed from an original German name. Have no information on WADE or PAGE, but lots of JAGGERS information, and welcome all responses. Thanks Norman! Great to get a reply from you. Haven't seem much from you lately. I am going to be coming back to Kentucky again this year and I am going to try my hardest to get in touch with you. Last year I had a few problems with time. An uncle was desperately ill (he eventually shot himself, this was Coy Sanders, brother to Willadean Sanders Highbaugh), and also a cousin's husband was diagnosed with cancer (inoperable), he's still alive but only has a few weeks I hear. So time was quite short. I did see Dale Huffman though and enjoyed talking with him. He gave me an Edmosnon County History book with the family histories in it. I'll have to get him something in return. Doyle Sanders, Indian Territory

Since I am new to the list I will go ahead and jump on in. I have been trying to piece together the Webb's that lived in Hart Co - namely Aliczander b. abt 1821 (according to the 1850 census). He may have been the father of Josiah/Joseph Webb, whose son Alic b. 1888 married my g-g'ma in Edmonson Co, Blaine Hattie Webb in 1908. I think the elder Alic was the son of James M Webb, brother of Martin H Webb who settled in Edmonson and also the g-g'pa of Blaine. Would love to be able to confirm or deny either relation. Then there is the Hazelip family. On 1850 Hart Co there are Thomas, Merry, Jesse and Robert (all b. between 1818-28) with their respective families. How are they related to Robert Hazelip & Millian Webb? Now last one - the Crane's. I descend through Charles & Martha Jane (Long) Crane's daughter, Sallie who married Perry Hale Jacobs. Charles is the s/o George & Lucinda (Amos) Crane. Have no idea who the parents of Martha are, but would love to know. Anyone out there working on the Long's????? Thanks. Zandra in Pinellas Park, FL

Zandra in Pinellas Park, FL >> Alec. Webb (1822- April 1918) of Hart Co. was the father of several children, one was Jacob Webb. There were several other sons but I don't recall their names now. Anyway, Alec. Webb was born MERRY ALEXANDER WEBB the son of MERRY WEBB also known as Mel Webb. Mel. or Merry Webb(bn 1770's died 1842) was the son of Martin Webb, sr. who died at Mammoth Cave 1816. Robert Hazelip's wife, Millian Webb Hazelip was supposed to have been a daughter of Merry Webb or a sister. Can't remember which. Robert and Millian had a son, Robert, Jr. who died before his father died, leaving several small children to be orphaned out by the Edmonson Co. court. Those are the names you have above.
