Matthew Garrison entered 50 acres of land on Green River in Hardin County on March 25, 1819, but original Hart County tax records for 1819 show he was taxed for that land on the Hart County tax rolls. Samuel Doyle is taxed for that land in Hart County in 1820 and subsequent years. Matthew is found in the 1820 census of Warren County with a family too large to be his own. Maps of the time indicate county lines in the area are indefinite and census, tax and land records certainly support that statement. Hannah Doyle Garrison died in Kentucky, however the date and place of death are not recorded. Her last child was born in Barren County about 1825. On March 1, 1827, in Barren County, Matthew married Mary Davidson, daughter of John and Rachel Ellis. James Garrison and another son, George Garrison, remained in Kentucky until George died in 1830. Old Old RWS James and George's widow then moved to Greene County, Illinois, to join the rest of the family. Matthew and his new wife, Mary, along with Mary's father, the Reverend John Davidson, also moved to Greene County, Illinois. -----Original Message----- From: Mary Makovy <maryx01@earthlink.net> To: KYHART-L@rootsweb.com <KYHART-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Monday, April 24, 2000 9:16 AM Subject: [KYHART-L] Roll Call >My Hart County ancestor is GARRISON, DOYLE, VINEYARD > >My website > >http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/m/a/k/Mary-F-Makovy/index.html > > >============================== >Free Web space. Hi, Does anyone know if there's a website for the Hart Co. Marriage records? Thanks. Kate Beaugrand Cook, Nashville, TN rcnkc@compaq.net
You are one of Maxies kids! Have you ever been to the family reunion in Franklin? I go every year. Lets take this conversation to a private level. Write me at my own address instead of posting to the web site. rcondon1@prodigy.net Mona
I believe so - we come down through a Gregory Doyle. I will find the line and post it to you. Mona rcondon1@prodigy.net
I forwarded your message on to him - hopefully he will reply soon. He has been moving. Who are you interested in on the Thompson line? Mona rcondon1@prodigy.net
Yep - but we may not have ever met. I have fiund quite a few cousins online since joining this site. From Mary Polly Sanders Thompson my line goes like this: Benjamin Thompson m. Mary Mitchell Wilson Virginia Dare Thompson m. Joe Berry Doyle Nova Lillian Doyle m. Clarence Douglas Condon to me - Ramona Faye Condon Benjamin was one of Harold Francis and Mary Polly's sons. I am very interested in Mary Polly. If you have any information on her, I would love to read it. I have pictures of her, and she is just so interesting to me. She must have been a very strong lady to have lived so long. Her face has so much character to it. We visited their grave sites last year in September. They are on private property, and the owner was then this feisty little old lady who walked us back to their gravesites herself! She was a case of nails, I tell you. Great fun.
