Looked for Turner and any other surname sounding similar, but did not find a listing in 1850 Hart Co. Census. I will be glad to look for any other information you may need. I make weekly trips to the public library for cemetery listings. ----- Original Message ----- From: <KAMAMA3@aol.com> To: <KYHART-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, June 06, 2000 5:39 PM Subject: [KYHART-L] Re: KYHART-D Digest V00 #50 > In a message dated 6/6/00 3:37:25 PM Eastern Daylight Time, > KYHART-D-request@rootsweb.com writes: > > << I have an 1850 Hart Co. Hi! Thank you for writing me. Are you aware that there is a family site for the line you descend from? Based on the info you provided, I am rather certain you would be interested in that site. Here is the lady's email to contact to get on the list. Her name is Sally. <shburwell@Juno.com>. It is a secured list and you have to be added to it, but I am sure she would be delighted to hear from you and add you to the list. I have info there myself because I think (but do not yet know for sure) that I connect to your line, too. Do you have any Forrest Hunter's in your line? That name was in Barren Co very early in the 1800's and may be connected to mine. According to my friend at the Hunter-Burwell site I mention above, the ancestors are John P. and Forrest P. Hunter. I do not know what that P stands for. Do you? How far back have you found your ancestors on the Hunter side? My oldest is James A. Hunter b. ca. 1813. I just haven't been able to get out of Barren Co with the research. You say your line goes back to Louisa Co, VA. This other source I gave you says it goes back to Goochland, VA. Is that the same area? Do you have a list of all you ancestors you could email? I don't have any gedcom software, so it would have to come in text. And I am creating a list of my ancestors I can send, but it is not finished. Well, more later, and thanks again for your help. Could any one tell me some history of the above town? Was there a Mill or factory there? I am curious because most to the Madden families lived in the area at the end of the 19th century. I would just like some idea of the history of the area. Thanks, Nancy

I noted the Hart County Civil War Records site while doing some searching. It might be helpful to some. http://www.imagin.net/~tracers/civilwarky.htm I am searching any info for my gr-grandmother: CHANEY, Catharine Jane b. December 1860 Three Springs, Hart Co., KY. Married September 30, 1880 Warren Co., KY to William E. Westbrook b. August 25, 1856 Warren Co., KY. There is a Catharine Chaney listed on the 1860 census in Metcalf Co. but that was taken prior to the date of birth that I have. Teri terilong@hotmail.com
Hello, Re listing of surnames Do they have any on-line resources, or is it necessary to go there in person (to KY)? That's not an option for me. Regards, Maribette
