    2. Judy, I have a Mary Crump who married George Washington Self about 1840/42 in probably Hart Co. as no records have been found in any of the other surrounding Co's. This was his second wife and they had children. G.W. & Mary both died in Harrison Co. Ind. before 1920. Mary was born about 1814 in VA. Do you have any info that might connect my Mary Crump to your family ? This is the only info I have on Mary Crump and this was discovered from the Obiturary of her son George Washington Cottrell Self who was a Court Reporter for the Indiana Supreme Court in the 1900's. He had been the Editor for the Harrison County Indiana Republican newspaper prior to his moving to Indianapolis. They are both buried in Corydon, Ind. Thanks, Doris Self Redford

    3. Researching Robert and Martha (Patton) Carter who came from Halifax Co, NC to Hart Co. in early 1800s. Robert died ca1824 and Martha later. Are there cemetery listings for these Carters? Most of their children were married in KY and later moved to Sangamon/Menard Co., IL by 1840. Also researching William Mathews the Baptist minister of 1800-1820s. And, trying to identify the parents and siblings of Goldsby Davis who was in the area about the same time period. His family also moved to Illinois. Would like to correspond with anyone having information on the above families. Willing to share. Thank you, Bertha

    3. Little Jordan church and cemetary are in Mammoth Cave park on the north side. There is an access road that you can take to get to it, but the church has been destroyed. You can get a map with the graveyards marked on it in the tour shop in the park itself. Mona in Indiana

    1. [KYHART-L] Where to look next.
    2. I have a mystery that some of you may be able to help me solve. My Grandmother was a resident of Hart County. I know the date of her marriage to George W. Newton (2-14-1892) but I cannot find a record of it. Where do you suggest I look? I thought of church but don't know which one to try. She was a member of Little Jordon Church until about 3 years before her marriage. I don't know where she went from there. Her parents (Edward and Mary Doyle Denison) seems to have left Little Jordon about the same time. She talked a lot about Little Jordon and I have no memory of Grandma ever saying anything about another church before she moved to Louisville in the early 1900's and joined Highland Park Baptist. I called Highland Park to see if there was a record of her moving her membership from another church but someone threw out all the old records thinking they were useless. I will be grateful for any suggestions.
