Florence of Sylvandell, this county , sold $70.56 worth of butter which she churned from the milk of two Jersey cows, 410 lbs.; and 177 gallons buttermilk for $17.75. Mrs. Florence has 50 hens, and sold 482 dozen eggs for $55.52. Who can equal this thrifty record? - -------------------------------------------------------- Robertson county can probably lay claim to having the oldest woman of any county in this section, in the person of Mrs. Mahala Bales, widow of Major bales. She lives on Five Lick with a crippled daughter, and recently passed her 106th birthday. Her maiden name was Dotson. She is in the enjoyment of perfect health; does all of her own household work, and cares for her daughter, and can walk two or three miles on a stretch without resting.
