Fellow researchers, I have spent the better part of today uploading biographies onto my new "Bourbon County, Kentucky, Biographies" web page. I have completed the Paris, Precinct. Next week, I will begin uploading the other precincts. I strongly encourage input from you on these biographies. Most of the biographies are from William Perrin's "History of Bourbon, Scott, Harrison & Nicholas Counties, Kentucky" and, as many of you know, Perrin's--while a fabulous resource--is filled with errors. These errors include incorrect data, misspellings of first and last names, erroneous historical references, etc. Please understand, I am NOT putting Perrin down here; I am simply acknowleding the simple fact that in works of this sort, errors inevitably creep in. Now is your chance to help "fix" the errors. If you know of an error (or errors) in biographies concerning your ancestors, please send these corrections to my attention. I will duly notate the error and the correction. I must insist, however, that *your* information be correct--it doesn't help to correct an error with an error. Therefore, when you send a correction to me, please send documentation to prove your claim. Unless I receive such documentation, I will not post the correction. I'm not trying to be a "bad guy" here; I only want to make make sure we do this right.
