    3. This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------63F71DCA3D54BCA62F7200A8 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; x-mac-type="54455854"; x-mac-creator="4D4F5353" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Fellow Researchers, There have been many new changes to my "Early Bourbon Families" web page that should be of interest to Bourbon County researchers. Since taking on this project to document the early families of Bourbon County (1775-1820), I have noticed something very interesting. I believe what is being created on this web page is the largest collection of Bourbon County, Kentucky, genealogies on the internet! For the first time, researchers can access (and contribute to) material on the many families that came to this region during its formative period. I have received some GREAT information from fellow researchers (too many to mention here) who have generously volunteered their data. The result has been a mountain of material that will keep me busy for several months. I encourage anyone interested in this period to step forward with their data in the form of gedcoms, genealogy reports, original source material, etc. I believe that we are creating a repository of information never before found on the internet. For those just joining our group and unfamiliar with the Early Bourbon County web page, it can be accessed at: http://www.shawhan.com/bourbonfamilies.html Also, it is important to remind folks what is the intent of the web page. It is an extension of a project that I have been working on for some time now. I have set aside a year (from June 1999 to June 2000) to collect information on the early families of Bourbon County, Kentucky, who settled into this region between 1775-1820. Once the data is collected, I will spend the next six months compiling a book or books (it looks like several volumes at this juncture) documenting the history and genealogy of these families. I will be the "editor" of the work and will give full credit to all who contribute their materials. I encourage everyone interested in early Bourbon County history and genealogy to become involved in this project. Together we can create something valuable for present and future generations of researchers. Thanks, ------ Bob Francis 1920A Butner St. Ft. 3. Now that I've changed a lot of links and moved pages to Rootsweb, etc. I get this message: "Dear Customer, As you are probably aware, the web bandwidth statistics for the month of September were incorrectly measured for your web site. The unfortunate result was your site being made unavailable because the monthly bandwidth limit was "exceeded." The problem manifested itself by erroneously accounting for the amount of bandwidth used for the 12th through the 21st of September.. . We have now regenerated all web statistics for Netcom web hosting accounts for the month of September. As we turn your web page back on for this month, we will credit your account for one month's service." Wish I could reimburse all of YOU who suffered thru this with me. If you come across a dead link please let me know about it. Most of the pages are now duplicated at Rootsweb, but not all of them. One that I not only moved, but also added to, is the museum page. check it out at: http://members.aol.com/scottcomuseum/museum.html Jo Thiessen

    3. I am totally DISGUSTED with the Mindspring buyout of Netcom, but they didn't ask me! So, my Netcom pages have exceeded the new Mindspring limit on band width accessibility for this month. Until I can get some links moved around, and/or change my account, you'll have to use the mirror pages at Rootsweb. Be sure to let me know if something is not accessible that someone really needs, and I'll try to get it moved. In the meantime use these: http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyharris/harrison.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~kyscott/ScottCo.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~kywoodfo/woodford.htm http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~thiessen/ Jo

    1. [KYHARRIS-L] Re: [FRENCH-L] Miss America 2000 - Heather Renee French
    2. Kim Woodward
    3. Hi All, Sorry I did not get to answer this question until now but I wanted to make sure that I had all of my facts straight. The original question was: >From: gapeach <havfun@mindspring.com> To: FRENCH-L@rootsweb.com > >Wonder who she is related to??? and... >From: Cludy52@aol.com To: FRENCH-L@rootsweb.com > >We all would be interested in knowing who Renee is related to. :) Apparently Heather Renee French is my Half 2nd Cousin, Once Removed (using my handy FTM relationship calculator). She is the great-granddaughter of Hugh French and Nancy Buckner. Hugh I believe was the first born of Charles R. French (1858-1939) and Mahala Kabler (1859-1889) from Robertson Co, KY [I descend from Charles 2nd wife Liddia Wiggins (1866-1928)]. Charles is the son of Hugh French (1824-1877) and Margaret Moran (1827-1901) of Fleming/Harrison Co, KY. Hugh is the son of James French (1797-1841) and Rebecca Applegate (1801-??) from Mason Co, KY. James French is the original French in Heather's direct line that immigrated to Kentucky from Loudon Co, VA. Heather's line is therefore in the French Family Association Chart #36 being compiled by Margaret Amundson. Her French family lineage in Kentucky is in the counties of Mason, Bracken, Robertson, and Harrison. >From: CRITTER581@aol.com To: FRENCH-L@rootsweb.com > >It would be nice if we looked all that up and sent it to her. That would be a >great present from the French list... just something to think about... > Bill French I would be open to such a project since I have been trying for a year to trace the James French / Rebecca Applegate family downward. I can supply much of what I know but I don't have the extra time to devote to managing the endeavour. Any volunteers? Anyone out there with the same lineage who can help in the compilation?
