    2. Something that seems to work for me. My server keeps a log of my last 15-20 visited sites. I can click on one (my last search result for example) and I go directly to that page. From there, I can go to a further page on that search rather than starting over again. If your server doesn't have that feature, you can bookmark that first search to start at on your next turn. Pat

Last year, on one of the lists, I had made the suggestion that a jar with your information & relation to an ancestor be attached to the headstone with your name, phone #, email address, etc. This is what one caretaker suggested: "As caretaker for a cemetery, I know that anything glass is frowned on. String trimmers do wonders for them! I would recommend using a zip-lock bag which can be fastened to the marker, attached to floral displays or put under stone saddles holding flowers -- anything that will secure the bag. It's worked for us!! We left a bag with our name, address and phone number and an explanation of what we were doing on a stone a week before Mother's Day. We received a call from a 93 year old descendant of my husband's 2-great aunt! Sandra" Happy Hunting! 1. [KYHARRIS-L] HURRAH!!! WE ARE SUCCESSFUL!!!
    2. Bob Francis
    3. To one and all, I now have the distinct honor of proclaiming SUCCESS in our Perrin's Book Project. As of today, we officially met our goal of the number required to purchase the books. I have contacted Southern Historical Press with the good news and they are sending the contract. As soon as I get the actual money in hand, I will send it off to the printer. As mentioned in yesterday's e-mail, it will take between 8-10 weeks for them to complete the printing and shipping process, then I'll send the books on to you. I'm really excited that we pulled this off--I surely could not have done it without you. YOU ARE THE GREATEST! Now, following is a list of the folks who ordered books. I have placed an asterick beside those whose money has been received: Dorschug, Alan* Appleby, Kay Bane, Nick Bell, M'Lou Bellanca, Pam Bloom, Barbara* Blue, Ardath* Borrus, Tina Brumm, Judith* Bryant, Noreen Pearson Buchanan, Virginia* Burkhead, Connie Carter, Charles* Cowan, Barbara* Dalrymple, Jeannie Davies, Gregg Davis, Joy* Ditting, Barbara Donaldson, Myrtle* Dorsey, Pat Eisenbath, Sandie* Feeback, Pat Feebee, Mariam Ford, Sally Gipson, Lynda Goble, Kathy Goodall, Grace Gray, Vikki Griffith, Beverly* Hatfield, Donna Hynan, Lynda* Jameson, Debbie Jones, Rob Jones, Sarah* Keller, Maria* Kersteter, Joy Land, Sylvia Loomer, Jan Magee, Lorraine* Martin, Judy McArdle, Debbie McCray, Bill* McCullough, Marla* McDaniel, Jim McKenny, Lori Meriweather, Elizabeth* Miller, Vera Mills, Patije Mitchell, Phillip Moore, James* Moore, Judy* Moore, Sue* Morris, Keith Morrow, Bill Moser?, Jane Mullen, Joan Naff, Phillip Nance, Barbara Nelson, Lloyd Nicastro, Peggy Ostenson, Andy Palmisano, Conrad Park, Deborah* Parmley, Sarah* Ralston, James M.* Riat, Marilyn* Roberts, Dawn Roby, Beth Roe, Cheryl Romito, Donna Schmit, Virginia Sellers, Monte Shaffer, Lynda Sharon Shawhan, Spencer Shell, Carolyn Silvestri, Linda Smith, Cheryl Snell, Mary Kay Thiessen, Jo Thurman, Gilbert Varnon, Jan Waggoner, Del Warth, Peggy Weir, Virginia Wescott, Fred* White, Ruth* Wilcox, Kathy Williams, Sue Williams, Verna Woodward, Kim* Zollman, Mary (As you will note, I didn't catch one of your surnames) If your name did not appear on this list and you e-mailed me with an order, please contact me immediately. 1. [KYHARRIS-L] Perrin Book Project--a few more thoughts
    2. Bob Francis
    3. Fellow researchers, Sorry to keep filling your e-mail boxes with "Perrin" messages but I wanted to share a few more thoughts with you. Our project to bring William Perrin's "History of Bourbon, Scott, Harrison and Nicholas Counties" back into publication is a once-in-a-generation event. The last time Perrin's work was in circulation was 1979. The 1979 version, edited by the Rev. Emmett Lucas, is what is being reprinted this time around. There have been attempts to reprint the book since then but without success. This work is true to the original 1882 book except that it is reduced in size and it includes a thorough all-name surname index. This time around it looks like we will succeed in bringing this valuable work back into publication. That's the good news. The bad news is that I could only afford to purchase a very limited number of books. Once these books are gone, I doubt if we will see a reprinting any time in the forseeable future. It will probably be another twenty years before a new generation of researchers come along who will band together as we have to make this dream a reality. I say all this to encourage anyone who may be putting off purchasing this book to reconsider. I will have a few books in stock after the initial goal of 100 orders is met. However, once the stockpile is gone, I will not order any more. Again, I say a special "THANK YOU" to all who have rallied around this project to make it a success (hopefully!). 2. Bob Francis
    3. To my fellow researchers, We are very close to achieving our goal of reprinting William Perrin's classic work "The History of Bourbon, Scott, Harriosn and Nicholas Counties." All we need is 10 more orders. Once these orders are placed and the money is in hand, I will order the books. A big THANKS to all who have contributed thus far to make this dream a reality. I am confident that a few more researchers will help us go over the top. For those who are new to the group and have not heard of this project, please check out my "Perrin History" web site at the following address: http://www.shawhan.com/book.html I am attempting to bring back this classic book for our generation of researchers. 2. Jo Thiessen
    3. Are you people aware that here are 2 ways people can post queries for Harrison County? Some people seem to monitor one board but not the other. Some people like to post just by sending an e-mail or filling out a form that comes to me by e-mail, and the index of messages coming this way extends back 3 years. Each of these methods can be searched, but I just wanted you to know each has a separate address - and the contents is not completely duplicated. I appreciate the help the experts give to people who may not have a clue how to proceed, as well as those out of the area who just don't have access to good records. I do a lot of lookups in the books that I have, but certainly don't have time to follow up on each county query. If you know the nationality of this name please let me know also, as I have been told several different things. If you are able to help in any way, I would appreciate it.
