He passed away on May 6, 1938 in Harlan, Harlan Co., KY. I don't have any additional information on Maudie other than her date of death in 1989 in Barbourville, KY. John and Julia Maudie (Chadwick) were married after 1917. They had one child together ~ John "Springer" BROCK who was born on August 4, 1934 or 1935 (can't find my records right now). John was previously married to Lille APPLPEGATE and they had four children: James "Clifford" (b: 1908); Charles (b: 1912); Georgia (b: 1914); and Hughie (b: 1912/13). No one in our family knew of Hughie and he is NOT listed as a survivor on John's obituary from 1938. He is listed on the 1920 census, however, at age 7. John's middle initial on his tombstone is "H".
