The annotations regarding the death of Virginia Jane BAILEY in 1858 and the first and second marriages of Hugh SMITH from the annotated census by Gertrude and Janette NOLAN present a fairly clear picture that the mother was Narcissus BALL. 1850 Harlan Co.
