Author: txhoward_1 Surnames: Howard Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.harlan/14637/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am looking for the youngest child of Andrew B. and Rosanna Noe Howard of Harlan County, Kentucky, Thomas Howard, born ca. 1869. The story goes that at some point, Tom killed a man and fled Harlan County, Kentucky to escape arrest. The story states that he fled to parts unknown, although Iowa seems to be the most mentioned destination. In what I am guessing to be the late 1920's to early 1930's, Tom returned to Harlan County to visit his remaining brothers and sisters and I have a photograph commemorating the event. My father, uncle (grandsons of Nathan Howard) and a grandson of Calvin Howard all told this story and remembered his visit. (The aforementioned men were Tom's older brothers).
