    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: nanny33 Surnames: Miller Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.harlan/14843/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Can someone please tell me where a person living in Harlan County in the 1920's would have gone to apply for their citizenship? I am not sure if they have the records locally at a courthouse, or if they would be in a federal office, such as the National Archives. I just can't find anything that says they actually have records from the state of KY. Any help would be very much appreciated. 3. I ordered my grandfather's file from the National Archives. The papers I received from the Archives even had a picture of my grandfather on his citizenship papers. Have you checked with Ellis Island for ship passengers list? If you can locate them on there, they will probably have some good records. http://www.ellisisland.org/ ----- Original Message ----- From: <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: <KYHARLAN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 23, 2009 2:10 PM Subject: [KYHARLAN] citizenship files > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Author: nanny33 > Surnames: Miller > Classification: queries > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.kentucky.counties.harlan/14843/mb.ashx > > Message Board Post: > > Can someone please tell me where a person living in Harlan County in the > 1920's would have gone to apply for their citizenship?
