He was born in Brookside, KY to Bill and Gussie Couch Horne. He was employed by Strohs Brewery for 45 years and was a member of the teamsters. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Helsel; son, Jimmy Horne; sister, Flossie Osborne; and brother, Preston Horne. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janeth Akin Horne; sons, Frank Horne, Dave Horne, John (Stacie) Horne and Robert Horne; grandchildren, Jesse, Billy, Alicia and Preston Horne; brother, Jack (Vivian) Horne; and sister-in-law, Maxine Horne. A 3 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at the Horne home this afternoon, Saturday, March 21, 2009. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor' s choice.
