Please note the first of his e-mails is from 10 years ago. I would not have known as much about these relationships at that point in time. I do recall at the time telling Wendell I felt we were related. As I have gone back and re-read what he wrote, most of it makes sense to me. Seems to me the Mathias BROWN b. abt. 1849 was a son of my ggg-grandfather, William BROWN b. abt. 1804 in prob. Lee Co., VA. He was married to Mary KELLY. I descend through another of their sons, John BROWN who married Rebecca BAILEY. (My maternal gg-grandparents). John and Rebecca BAILEY BROWN had Zion Bailey BROWN who married Easter BLAIR BROWN and had my grandfather, Samuel Roscoe BROWN b. 1880. Samuel Roscoe grew up and married my grandmother, Sarah Elizabeth CREECH in 1900. My mother , Maudie BROWN was born in Harlan Co., KY in 1915.
