Don't think they had any close ties outside of the tri-state Cumberland Gap area, so it doesn't make sense for it not to be around there. By the way, my Mothers maiden name was Brock and her Father (Drexel) was from Pineville - Magnet Holler I think. Brothers Noah, Ed and I think James and sister Fanny who married a Stewart. Their parents were John and Elssie (not sure of the spelling) Brock. Any relation to your Brocks? I have just started looking on the Brock side and don't have much information.
