His siters were Bridget and Margaret Nolan which I believe came to the US and settled from Lowell Mass, to Kansas City Missouri area. Margaret married Patrick Sheridan I think. And in one census there was a Johanna Nolan born 1873. So Johanna, Sheridan and Nolan are all names that are in your relation. Does any of this even sound like there could be some connection?
