Obit printed in Ledger_Enquirer, Columbus, GA. & Feb 2009. "Betty B. McClung, 76, of Pine Mountain Valley, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Columbus Hospice. Graveside services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 8, 2009 at the Sivell-Reames Family Cemetery, Pine Mountain Valley wiht Rev. Gino Zalunardo officiating, according to Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening adn at the home of Jack McClung, 18 Palmetto Creek Xing, Hamilto, GA. Mrs. McClung was born May 26, 1932 in Harlan Co., KY, the daughter of Ernest and Kyla Shackelford Bumgardner. She was a devote wife and loving mother to her four sons and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. McClung was a member of the Harris County Quilters Guild and had most recently attending King's Pasture Community Church in Hamilton. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 54 years (US Army Ret) CSM Donald E. McClung. Survivors include four sons, William Paul McClung of Huntsville, AL, Michael Roy McClung of Columbus, Jack Louis McClung of Hamilton, Patrick Donald McClung of Sumpter, SC., one sister, Linda Daily of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Richard Bumgardner of Madison, ME; ;nine granchildren and four great granchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs McClung may be made to the Kids Zone Building Fund at King's Pasture Community Church, 13377 Hwy. 27, Hamilton, GA 31811.
