It seems none of them had an idea of who his parents were. Most indicate he died in Harlan Co., KY in 1887. Also, under the Civil War, it appears he served in Company E, Harlan Co. Batt. Regiment and enlisted on 10-13-1862 and was discharged on 1-13-1863. On the 1840 in Harlan Co., KY JOHNSON, Amose, bet. 20-30 . .Female, bet. 20-30 . .Male, under 5 . .Male, 5-10 . .
