Sadly, I did not know your relatives, I wish that I could say that I did, although very likely my father or grandfather did. We had moved away from Harlan County by the beginning of WW2 and I was at the most six years old. I have been back for to visits, to places where we lived as children, including Lynch, and to Kitts where my mother lived as a child. We also visited my brothers grave in the New York section of Cumberland, where his grave is located. The only names I remember is Lambert who lived downstairs from where we lived. Sorry. Almost every thing is gone in Lynch including the commissary and hospital where my brother was born and died. There is a mining museum with lots of picture and names, I found my my father's annual group photo there. In Lynch there is a train engine in the old town depot. Thanks for writing. He looked at me an said many day he loaded as much as thirty tons. The miners then had to drill the holes for the dynamite,and load the dynamite to blow the coal to load. Providential day was badly hurt with a broken back, this and other bones when hit by a derailed coal car. I say providentially, he left the mine, completely health and inlisted in the Navy and retired from there. My grandfather lost a thumb and had other injuries. My brother died in the mining hospital at birth because of incompetent care. There were certainly many "Sins of the mines.
