I'm pretty sure it should be Tester. My uncle was married to a Ruby Bowling who was the daughter of Tester & Mary Bowling. I know that Tess & Mary had a sons named Hubert & Ray. I don't know if Tess was married any other times, but do know that he and Mary lived at London, KY, near my uncle, while I was growing up in the 70's & 80's Tess & Mary both died in the late 1990s. My uncle and his wife Ruby have also passed away. I did find this in the The Sentinel Echo, the London, KY paper www.sentinel-echo.com and the age seems to fit the Hubert that you found in the 1930 census Obituaries Hubert Bowling Hubert Bowling, 77, of London, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at his residence. He was a son of the late Tester and Mary Duncan Bowling. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Bennett Bowling. Funeral services were Friday, March 25, at London Funeral Home, with the Revs. Larry Paul Roark and Hubert Roark officiating. Burial was in McDaniel Cemetery in London, Kentucky. I don't know anything else about this family or their lines, but I hope this might help you. If you have any questions that I might could help you with on this please feel free to e-mail me at kentuckykaren@prodigy.net
