Then when I started to discover your Frank JOHNSON and wife, Nancy, in Letcher Co. as of the 1920 and that along with the births of several of their children in Letcher Co. made me look at my data base. Here they are as of the 1920 Letcher Co. Fed. Census at West Whiteburg, Prec. #1 Dweling 351-353 JOHNSON, Frank, 36, head, b. VA; parents b. VA - gen. farming . .Nancy, wife, 27, b. KY; parents b. KY (nee BROWN) . .Willie, son, 13, b. KY . .Oscar, 10, son, b. KY . .Milliard, 8, b. KY, son . .Hiram, 6, son, b. KY . .Lillie M., 3 yrs 10 mo's, b. KY, dau . .Alma, l yr plus, dau, b. KY From the KBI: Hiram JOHNSON b. 3-7-1914 in Letcher Co. - not recorded until 1941 Lilburn JOHNSON b. 7-3-1920 in Letcher Co. - not recorded until 1954 Ralph JOHNSON b. 6-24-1934 in Letcher Co. to Nancy BROWN. NOTE: The other births are recorded with the maiden name of the mother as Nancy BROWN To tell you the truth all I had was that "a" Frank JOHNSON had married in Letcher Co., KYin 1913 to Nancy BROWN b. 9 Jun 1892 in Harlan Co., KY. Her parents were: William "Marion" BROWN and wife, Susannah "Susan" PARKER. William "Marion" BROWN was b. 10 Jun 1861 in Harlan Co. and mar. abt. 1881 to Susannah PARKER b. 2 Dec 1856 in Letcher Co. William Marion BROWN's parents were: Matthew "Madison" or Matt BROWN and wife was Jane FIELDS. Her parents (Susannah's that is) were : John "Wesley" PARKER and Sarah CAUDILL. Matthew BROWN's parents were: William BROWN b. abt. 1804 in Lee Co., VA married to Mary KELLY b. 1808; d. 2-17-1877 in Letcher Co. William BROWN died after 1880 prob. in Letcher Co. My connection is that your Matthew BROWN was a brother to my John BROWN mar. to Rebecca BAILEY who had Zion Bailey BROWN who married Easter BLAIR who had Samuel Roscoe BROWN who married Sarah Elizabeth CREECH (my maternal grandparents who had my mother, Maudie Nell BROWN in 1915; d. 2002).
