I don't have much info on Ben because he kept going in and out of Harlan Cty. He was married lst to Nancy Bowlin, had a son Doctor Collins. Married Manerva Fields, 7 Nov 1858. They had: Sylvania who married Calvin JOHNSON, 7 Jun 1879. George, br about 1863. Howard C. Collins, br. 21 Mar 1865, died 20 Mar 1947. Married Jane FARLEY, 31 Jan 1884. Mintie Collins br. 31 Jan 1866, married my grandfather Richard Amos FARLEY. Abraham Lincoln Collins married Drucilla POPE, 29 Aug 1888. James COLLINS, br. 7 Feb 1871, died 12 Aug 1948, married 7 Mar 1892 to Rosa FARLEY.They had one child Mary Ellen. James married 2nd Lillie FARLEY,sister to Rosa. They had a large family. The 1910 Census has Ben with two children, Felix and Duncan. My older sister said Duncan lived around London,Laurel, Ky. In re. Felix. I have in my files a letter written in 1928 to my father Floyd FARLEY, from Louisville,KY. Felix asked about Sylvania and Calvin and sent his regards. He said he was going to Cincinnati to spend Christmas. Duncan and Felix must have been from a 3rd marriage. Minerva married Granville Stacy, don't know when or where. There was a son Henry. In 1910 census she was listed as Manerva Stacy, age 69. Mary Ellen, gr-dau. She raised Mary Ellen because her mother Rosa FARLEY died young. Marry Ellen dau. of Jim Collins. Minerva, known to all of us as Grandma Stacy, lived with different family members. She stayed with my father Floyd Farley at Emerling,Harlan,Ky for awhile. My older sisters remember her as a very small woman sitting in a rocking chair smoking a pipe. Her death certificate information was given by her son Howard Collins of Wallins Creek. Thanks for posting Manerva's picture. I have a large photo of Maverva,Mintie,my father and sister and two brothers. I don't want to send it by message bd, but will send it snailmail.
