Sherry, I am descended from Sinclair Ledford, born 1830, emancipated by Aley Ledford in 1860. Sinclair and Dorcas had a daughter named America, born in July 1850. In October 1871, America married George W. Creech, son of John Creech (in the 1870 census, John, Sarah and family lived in the next house to Stephen Ledford, son of Aley). America and George's firstborn was Henry R. Creech my grandfather. I am interested in the draft registration card for the African American Ledford. I am one of three African American Ledford descendants with green eyes. I have not heard of one with blue eyes.
