The Mary d/o John Kilbourne (who was probably s/o Martin) does seem the right age. I had searched ancestry's census database but not found her for some reason. The sources listed by Lillian Creech in her book, Arthur Creech and his sister Stella, were the cousins of my grandfather that I mentioned, and with whom I both corresponded and met in person before their deaths. I do not really remember if they believed Mary Kilbourne to be John Creech's wife based upon family knowledge or research. Regarding the place of his marriage to her, I have personally extracted Creech marriages at the Harlan courthouse 25 years ago, and also searched the printed transcriptions of others and failed to find that marriage in Harlan County. So Lee County, Virginia, the home of the Kilournes would seem more likely, although with some ministers not necessarily having registered all their marriages sometimes explains the existence of no record. I will try to research any will/probate records for that John Kilbourne when I have the opportunity, so maybe that will verify the marriage. Thank you again for taking the time to convey that information. Your distant Creech cousin
