I'm looking for information on a marriage that may have been in Harlan Co. I can't find a record of it in Clay Co. Joseph (Joe) Roark to an Elizabeth Hollinsworth between 1880 and 1900. Elizabeth's death certificate lists her father as Jim Hollin but I believe that was shortened from Hollinsworth or Hollansworth or Hollingsworth. Their daughter Mary was born in February 1888 but son George wasn't born until 1894. This could possibly be because of their move to Clay Co. I believe Joseph's father's name was James and he is still in Harlan Co. in the 1900 census. Another puzzle is that Joseph Roark changed his name to Joe Maxie around 1912. George was married as a Maxie. Any help with these puzzles would be greatly appreciated. Jerry Philpot.
