I want to let everyone know that the Bell Co Historical Society Museum is now open on Wednesdays. We are open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, as well as every first & third Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM. Our exhibits cover the towns of Pineville and Middlesboro, as well as Bell County. Recently, Dr Jeff Woods loaned us a rare copy of Wm & Sally Dixon Creech's small book about their life on Poor Fork/Cumberland and the establishment of Pine Mountain Settlement School. It is a real treasure! So many of our Bell Co families have Harlan Co connections. The Howards, Baileys, Eagers, Rices, Halls, Brocks, Arnetts, Hoskinses, and other families have lived in both Harlan and Bell Counties for two hundred years. If you're in Middlesboro, we would love to have you come by to see us on 21st St just past the post office and historic coal house. Regards, Connie Hoskins, Museum Director
