Hi My name is Pat i'm doing research on my husband's family. the names I'm looking for is COWANS OR COWAN-HAMMOCK OR HAMMACK- CARR-ELY-HILL- WHITIS-and WEAVER. His mother Ann Hammock and his father Sterling Cowans both came from Harlan. The one we can't get any info on his death is William Jonas Hammock died in 1935-36 was in a poorhouse from what we were told. His son came from Virginia and had him buried and would not tell anyone.His son's named was Elmer Hammock but he had it changed to Earl Haynes before he went to Virginia in the 50's. thanks for any help.
