Elva, I didn't know the numbers were that high, but I read somewhere where Sheriff Middleton deputized 67 (maybe one or two more or less) at one time. Theodore Middleton is a relative of mine - my great grandfather was Milton Middleton, son of George Middleton and Rhoda Stewart. And any info along these lines would be great.
