It's possible I've missed him in recording the sheriffs, but the name is rather unique and I don't think I would have overlooked it. It's possible he was a Deputy Sheriff. There have been many, many Deputy Sheriffs (I would hate to guess how many, but perhaps well over 1,000) and to my knowledge there is no list recording all of them. Many Deputy Sheriffs were employed by the mine operators to keep order at the mines during the labor strifes in the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's. It's also possible he could have been a policeman in Harlan or one of the neighborhood towns. Sorry I can't help more. Otto G. Coldiron
