Well, goodness, we are all pretty much related. Leander Skidmore was one of my great-grandfathers, and died about 1885. I did not do all the research myself, but picked up an interesting note on a Rootsweb family history. I cannot give you the name of the researcher, since I found this info in my early days of searching, and I did not note their name (apologies to you and to that person). Here is the note on Leander's death: ³Leander was reportedly shot by his son-in-law over a poker game. Thomas Day. Admos. on his estate given on August 4, 1885 in Harlan.² There has been much Skidmore research done by William Skidmore and others, and you would find lots of excellent Harlan information on the Harlan county research site.
