Your grandmother (Laura Lunsford Vandergriff) is my great-grand-aunt. She is the sister of my great-grandmother Fama Anne Lunsford Lakes. Parents of Fama Anne and Laura Belle Lunsford are Isaac Newton Lunsford and Jane Scott (sometimes listed as SCOT). Laura Belle Lunsford was born September 16, 1886 in Kentucky (not Tennessee). Laura Belle Lunsford Vandergriff is listed in the 1920 census living in Manchester, Clay County, Kentucky. She is listed along with her husband, William Dock Vandergriff and seven children (Famie, Mary Jane, Minnie, Cynthia, Richard, Charlie and Lenard (that is the way its spelled on the census records). The family lived in a boarding house and William worked for the Clay County Coal Company. The Kentucky Birth Index 1911-1999 shows that Laura Lunsford Vandergriff had a child named George on September 20, 1932. Laura died on September 21, 1932 as a result of complications from the birth. Laura Belle's sister, Fama Anne Lunsford married Jakie Lakes. Fama and Jakie had several children including my grandfather Chester Lakes. I hope this helps.
