Gibson's widow, Ruth Ann, did tell me he has been gone 15 years. However, I failed to get the date of death. I was finding out how to contact Gloria Jean, etc. Ruth Ann told me several things about the family also. Now, if I could only find the birth record for Onie Sr. Gloria Jean wasn't able to tell me much. We know that he was raised by his Uncle Willie and Aunt Eliza Dozier Gibson. Gloria Jean has fond memories of Uncle Willie. He was a special man and I remember him also. Onie's mother died as a young woman and Onie was not old enough to remember her. I believe his mother was Mary Francis "Fannie" Dozier Gibson and his father was James Madison "Matt" Gibson. This would have made Onie the double first cousin of my paternal grandmother. I believe I was told many years ago that they were double first cousins.
