    1. [KYHARLAN] John C. (Bull) Miracle query
    2. Roland Miracle
    3. Searching for the name of the biological father of John C. Bull/Miracle. See details below: Please reply by e-mail to rmiracle@insightbb.com 1) - John C. MIRACLE was born with the name John C. BULL, in Harlan County, KY on 10 June, 1861. Later (between 1900/1910) he changed his surname (and that of his wife and children) from BULL to MIRACLE, and moved the family from the Brownies' Creek area of Bell County, Kentucky to the Wildie area of Rockcastle County, Kentucky; and from that time on the family was known only by their MIRACLE surname. Note: At about the same time his brother, William Bull, (or "Bill"as he was commonly known) also changed his surname, and that of his wife and children to Miracle). Family reports indicate that John C. had very harsh feelings for his father, who's name he would never mention. We do know that his mother was Fanny MIRACLE Bull (daughter of Andrew MIRACLE & Rhoda WILDER), that his bride was Mary Catherine MIRACLE, that the two witnesses to the mariage were named MIRACLE, and that the minister who performed the marriage ceremony was Silas MIRACLE. 2) - John C.'s death certificate lists his father as a Preston MIRACLE, but no record of a Preston MIRACLE of sufficient age to have fathered John C. has been identified. However, a Preston BULL was the husband of John C.'s mother Fanny MIRACLE prior to John C.'s birth, and is known to have fathered one son who died in infancy and three daughters each of whom John C. refered to as his sisters. He also refered to a brother Bill who had remained in Bell County, and who later Also changed his surname, and that of his family, from BULL to MIRACLE. 3) - John C. BULL's (later John C. MIRACLE) marriage bond was issued at Pineville, Kentucky, 27 Feb 1882, by M.F. North, the Clerk of Bell County, Kentucky; Irving Shackleford signed the bond as surety for $100.00. The place of the 28 Sept. 1882 marriage was listed as the home of Ruth MIRACLE (the mother of the bride, Mary Catherine MIRACLE), with John M. MIRACLE and William MIRACLE listed as witnesses. The marriage was performed by Silas MIRACLE, listed as M.G. (Minister of the Gosple).

    3. Hi Frances, I think I went to school with you at Hall before you moved away .... I see Bobby Joe sometimes when he comes to the mall where I work. So many of the kids we went to school with have moved away and have lost touch with them. It is good to hear from you. I have known his family most of my life and we are probably distant cousins even though I have not tried to trace it down completely. My ggg grandmother had a sister that married Gen George Brittain and that is my connection to his family. Also, Gen Brittain had a daughter, Drucilla that married my great Uncle David Yancey Lyttle. 2. RESPONSE: Hello, Wanted you to know I found a bit more of what appears to be some connection to this Matthew M. FEEHAN. I just don't know exactly how it is a connection. I will pass on to you my findings. Hopefully the name/s will mean something to you. 1930 Brasstown, Towns, GA Dwelling 35-35 PUETT, George, 37, mar. at 25, b. GA; parents b. GA . . Bertha P., 37, wife, mar. at 19, b. GA; parents b. GA . .Blanche, 16, dau., b. GA . . Elmer, 13, son, b. IDAHO . .Mae, 9, dau b. GA . .Bernice, 6, dau, b. GA . .Carl, son, 3 yrs 4 months, b. OHIO . .Loyd, 6 months, son, b. OH FEEHAN, Edna, "niece", 12, b. IDAHO, father b. Kentucky, mother b. GA 1920 Kellogg, Shoshone, IDAHO Dwelling 391-764 PUETT, Geo., head, 34, b. GA; parents b. GA - smelter laborer . .Bertha, wife, b. GA; 26 yrs . . Blanch, 5, dau, . .Elmer, 2, son FEEHAN, Matt (sure looks like Matt but . . says NIECE, 1 yr 3 months, b. IDAHO, father b. KY; mother b. GA NOTE: So, possible it would appear that the Edna, age 12 on the 1930 and the Matt on the 1920 are one and the same. I am wondering if this is a child of this Matthew M. FEEHAN and his wife. As of the 1910 census, George W. PUETT is NOT married and is in Douglas, Converse, Wyoming and is a laborer. Since in both cases, this Edna or Matt FEEHAN is listed as a NIECE, that should mean that they are a child of a BROTHER of the head of the household or the child of a sister who married a FEEHAN. Sometimes they make a mistake and the niece is actually a relative of the wife of the head of the household. In this case, it would be this Bertha P. However, later findings regarding it being a relative of the wife don't seem to pan out. I found that George W. PUETT registered for the WWI Draft but it states he was found not fit for duty because of rheumatism in his legs. His birth is given as 9-2-1889 and his address as: Shoshone, ID. States he has a wife and a child as of when he signed the WWI Draft Registration on 6-5-1917. He worked for a B H and S Co.. Stated his birth was at Young Harris, Georgia. George PUETT's SSDI gives that he was born on 9-2-1886 but it still appears to be him. He died on July 1975 and his SS N was issued in OH before 1951. His last address is given as Hacienda Heights, CA in Los Angeles Co., CA. I live in Orange Co.; however, Hacienda Heights is maybe 25 minutes north of where we live in LA County. I also found Bertha P. PUETT's death record in CA. She is listed as born 6-11-1893 and died May 1990; Her SSN was also issued in OH bef. 1951. On our CA Death Index it states she died on 5-27-1990 in San Bernardino Co., CA and that she also was born in Georgia. Her mother's maiden name is listed as: SHULLER and her father's maiden name is listed as: BROWN. Her full name is given as: Bertha Pearl PUETT.
