Turners. If you get into the 1850 Harlan Co., KY census you will find both John's listed. They were first cuzzins thru their fathers, William & David Turner as they were brothers born in VA. William/Stacy Smith Turner were married in 1824 in Harlan Co., KY. The 1850 census lists 4 children for this marriage. Robert Turner is 25 in this census, married to Sally (Sarah) Harris. They have two children. The other 3 children of William & Stacy Turner are at home. They are John L. Turner age 19. This John married Louisa Hensley. Henry Turner age 17 and William Turner age 13. David Turner husband of Bitha (Tobitha) Lewis has the following children living at home in the 1850 census. John age 18, Mary age 19, David age 15, Elizabeth age 14, Nancy age 12, William age 10, Bitha (Tobitha) age 7, John R. (Ransom) age 4, Hannah (Amanda) age 3, and Delia age 1. Living next door to David & Bitha is son Abner C. Turner age 23 with his wife and 3 children. Hopefully some of this will help both of you. I'm not a Turner family researcher and know nothing farther about these families. I do find it odd that there are two John Turners in the same family tho as in David & Bitha's family.
Has any descendant of William YORK from Harlan County had their DNA tested? I am going to have a male YORK cousin test his DNA. I always thought there was a connection between the Harlan County YORKS and the Campbell County Tennessee YORKS. Doyle King deking45@comcast.net

It was in reply to The Day Board which I can not find. But our cumminication appears to be in order. Uncle Albert Day was a complicated man. He died a horrible death with bone cancer. No pain medication not even morphine can ease that pain but Albert had a bitter pain in his heart. He was not a mean person but in his heart he was hurting and he sort of just hid from the world. When I was a teen Uncle Albert would sneak away with me and as he sipped his hidden bottle of whuiskey he would speak so softly that I could not always understand him but I hung on every word he uttered. He spoke of WW2 and how he guarded prisoners and of that abuse with some guards...he spoke of how he would always be on point because he was so good with his weapon, being a country boy and a good shot sometimes has its disadvantages...how snipers would shoot at him and he would gobble like a wild turkey to make the snipers give up there lo! cations and he would kill them..killing gets to a man in time I know because I was a sniper in Vietnam and that little trick with the wild turkey saved me several times. I knew Uncle Albert had a drinking problem caused by the war but he did the best he could do. Most Days are strong about that we are just bad about being u8nsocialable.But Albert was a brother to my father Harlan and my own father never spook of Lloyd Day ,his grandfather. WHY WHY WHY. That is the cloud I speak of. Tony was a male nurse at the Boonevill Nursing home where Aklbert had to be because of his bone cancer and Tony had to watch his father die each day in pain and I take nothing away from Tony,I do not want anyone to think I have any disrespect toward Tony as I do not,..Tony was Alberts son and Tony lived on the property where my Great grandfather and mother was buried and Tony had to know more than any of us Dayd knew and we are en

I am a researcher for about 5 years and Nancy Day was a Indian, or a Slave or from outer space....it does not matter..I just would like to open the door and know where I get all these Day genes..just to better understand why I do some of the things I do...I loved my parents Harlan Day/Rosa Napier and I loved my Grand parents Ewell Day/Mina Hatton and I would have loved lloyd Day/Emile Jane Allen because all the blood that came from them...and Aley Ledford was one hell of a character and Nancy Day must had struggled hard...she deserves some love...some respect. I beleive she was Indian like so many other women in my blood. My grandmother was Cherokee Indian blood and she spoke some when I was a little boy how prejudice was so great that Indians Had to hid there bloodlines because Cherokees were being sent away around the civil war ...which was a stupid war just like Vietnam...all my Uncles said WW11 w! as stupid...I think Tip Day was in my blood as he was a outlaw like mebut his father was Beatty Day brother of Lloyd...to answer your question...YES YES YESS.All the Days need to stand up and lets find out who Nancy Day was. Albert was my Uncle and I can not understand why no one in my family ever knew or mentioned anything about lloyd and Emily. I never even knew who my great grand parenta were until i started researching. Albert and my father Harlan were brothers and all the Days were close in that family. No one seems to care anywhere in the next generations....Alberts son Tony knew all along about thiose graves and I plan on going to Beattyvill real soon to see Tony. His mother Florence was one of my favorite Aunts,Alberts wife...there is a big cloud hanging over Lloyd and emily jane...no one wants to talk about it but turn over enough rocks and you will find a snake and I am searching they can beleieve that. I been to that farm about a million times,Uncle Albert when he was a older man had a job guarding a strip coal mine operation above his farm and He NEVER NEVER mentioned his Grandfather Lloyd neither did my father Harlan. Later Uncle Albert move! d across trhe road and down that road to a new house but he was happier at the old farm. Tony is much younger than me but He has some explaining to do...thank you...what a surprise. Sincerely, herschel Day
