I was thinking that Abner Lewis and Eleanor Dixon were his parents, but I haven't been able to find his name on the lists of their children that I have found. Where did you find this info? I have Perlina's family name as Buckhart/Burkhart. It is listed both ways. Her father as best I can tell is Jacob Burkhart and her mother is Mary Unknown...this is purely from circumstantial evidence at this point...a theory I'm working on. The line I'm working on is through Nancy Jane Lewis b. abt 1854. I believe she married Reuben Spradlin in Johnson Co. and the whole family moved over to Johnson Co. abt the time of the marriage. Children of Reuben Spradlin and Nancy are: James b. 1870, John W. b 1873, Drucilla and Priscilla b. 1876, George b. 1880, Franklin b 1888, Elzie b. 1897, and Manford b. 1902. (all years approx. from census records) Our line is through Priscilla. She married Jesse Dale in abt 1896 or 7. If you are interested in this line, I'd be glad to share. Thanks again for the Abner Lewis/Eleanor Dixon info. Lois

Census. Parents are James--53 and Paulina--44 with sibs Drusilla--20, Jacob--14, Sidney--11, and George--4. In 1860 this family is in Harlan Co. I believe they have the wrong age for James in this census record because in 1860 he is 53 and in 1880 he is 73. (In 1880 James, Perlinia, and Jerry are in Letcher Co. I believe this is where James dies.) I'm trying to find some info on James' parents. I keep going around and around. There seems to be a connection to John Lewis, Jr. and Abner Lewis, Sr. They are next door to him in the 1860 census. There are also similar names in the families, but I can't seem to make a connection. I'd appreciate any info you might have. Thanks!!
