I do know that John and Margaret lived in Jackson Co.,Ky. because my grandfather who was b. 1899 was born at their house. Do you show them in your Howard Book? Smith b. 1853 at Poor Fork and reared in Harlan Co. Ky., as a young man he removed to lee Co. Va. where he married Rosa Mckee b. 1861 in Lee Co. Va. They were the parents of three children: Napoleon B. Smith "Pole" marries Nancy Middleton Cawood Leonard marries Nannie Cawood Grant (was a traveling salesman and resided at Bluefield W. Va.) J.L. Smith died in 1885, he was only 32 years old. J.L. was the son of John H. Smith and Hannah Branson. John H. was a gunsmith, and died prior to the Civil War. John H. was the son of Henry Smith who married Elizabeth Ledford. He was a Revolutionary War soldier. J.L. Smith's wife Rosa Mckee was the daughter of William Mckee and Melinda Yeary. William Mckee was a Union soldier killed in action. Malinda Yeary was the daughter of Henry Yeary born Nov. 17, 1776. He married Ruth Russell. Leonards Smith's brother was Napleon and he married Nancy Middleton. Daughter of James H. Middleton and Elizabeth Wynn. Nancy Middleton had previously been married to Green Cawood born Dec. 21, 1865, died Aug 31, 1893. He was the son of John and Louisianna Jones Cawood. Nancy and Green had three children: James marries Lela Smith Nannie marries Leonard Smith Lavina "Viney" marries a Bergman After Green Cawoods death Nancy Middleton marries Napoleon Smith and they have 8 children together. They were reluctant to sell me the old one since they were working on a new one. I bought mine in 2004, and since Spring of this year they were still working on a new version. It is very helpful for looking up birth dates, death dates military info etc.
