You have made my day or night as the case may be. THANKS! I have not felt well today and must get to bed, but want to look at this census record later. It should be John T. (John Thomas) Dozier. He and Martha Jane are my great-great-grandparents. Dora C. and James Leonard are Children by John T. Dozier's first wife who died. Of course it is a mistake that James is listed twice. William Andrew is my great-grandfather. Francis would be Mary Francis "Fannie." They must be twins since both are 3 years of age...or were born very close...less than a year apart. I don't have Fannie's birth date, but know William Andrew was born Mar. 1, 1876. Eliza is the Aunt Eliza who with her husband, William Gibson, rasied Onie. I wonder if John W. died before reaching adulthood. I have never heard anything about him. Daniel and Rebecca Branstutter are also my great-great-grandparents. I really need to check this out...don't know how my siblings my great-grandfather, Franklin, had. I didn't know Daniel's mother's name and now I know it was Marinda. This is exciting! There were 2 Josiah Doziers in the family. I would have to see the children's names to know which one this is. I haven't been able to find the Harlan Co. Marriage Index yet, but will try again later. It is recorded in the Knox Co. Marriage Index. J. M. Gibson married Mary F. Dozier, 3-17-1898, Book A-10, Page 368. I know it would help if he had always used the same name. If I can locate Onie's marriage record to Ruby Bishop, I just might have the answer I'm looking for. I really feel the 1910 census does give proof that Matt (Madison, J. M.) is Onie's father. Martha Gibson Peavler was Matt's sister. Onie would have been the Peavler's nephew. This record gives Matt, age 39, widow (widower). He was born in KY, however, it says VA. Then it states Onie's father was born in VA. Is this not more proof? I believe Mary F. "Fannie" Dozier Gibson died before deaths were recorded in KY. Fannie Dozier was a witness at my great-grandparent's marriage. They were Willam Andrew Dozier and Ida Belle Gibson. I can't find any other record of Fannie, but I believe very strongly she was Onie's mother. Larry

I do know for a fact that William and Eliza Gibson had no children of their own. They did raise their nephew Onie. I have heard about a girl saying with them, but I don't know for how long. Apparently this Ethel in the 1910 census in the girl. She may have been Onie's sister. I still strongly believe that Madison, whose full name was James Madison was Onie's father. He was known as Matt and J. M. He was a witness at the marriage of William and Eliza. He was William's brother and James Madison's wife was Eliza's sister. Her name was Mary Francis "Fannie" Dozier Gibson. I can not get any info on Mary Francis except for her marriage to J.M. Gibson. Onie was born in 1905 and I understand his mother died young. James Madison most likely did stay with William and Eliza for awhile after being widowed. I have heard that Thomas Dozier, Eliza's father, did stay with she and William before he died. However, I do not understand hi! m being there in 1910. His wife, Mattie, did not die until 1917. Thomas died in 1920. Yes, William and Nancy Gibson were William and James Madison's parents.
